The Town of Bassendean continues to review the future operating arrangements for Wind in the Willows Early Learning and Child Care Services.

As part of this process, the Request for Quotation (RFQ) for specialist Early Childhood Education Consultancy Services has closed and submissions are currently being evaluated.

Please note this RFQ was not about selecting a new childcare provider. Instead, it was about appointing a suitably qualified consultant or organisation to design and manage a future public Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

The successful consultant will assist the Town with the next stages of the review, including specialist advice and support.

The Town has also released a Request for Quotation for independent valuation services, with submissions closing on 26 June 2026. Market valuations are a legislated requirement for any planned disposal (sale or lease) of a local government service or asset.

To support transparency and informed decision-making, monthly financial reporting on Wind in the Willows commenced in May 2026, with actual financial performance being reported to Council against budget.

The Town remains committed to keeping families, staff and the wider community informed as the project progresses.
