Tip vouchers
The Town of Bassendean issues tip vouchers with your annual Rates Notice.
Tip vouchers are included as a QR code on either your printed rates notice or e-Rates notice.
Tip vouchers can be redeemed electronically and re-issued via email if lost or stolen. Tip vouchers are not for resale.
We encourage landlords to pass vouchers on to tenants.
Kitchen caddy liners
The Town of Bassendean issues kitchen caddy liners vouchers as a QR code on your annual Rates Notice.
Residents can collect two rolls of compostable kitchen caddy liners from the Customer Service Centre or Library with the QR code voucher.
Rental tenants
Ask your housing officer or property manager to contact Waste Services to request tip vouchers/FOGO liners on behalf of the owner.

Tip facilities
Town of Bassendean residents have access to two EMRC tip facilities: Red Hill Waste Management Facility and Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre.
Please bring your ID or proof of residency when dropping off items.
You can still take items to each facility once your annual tip pass allocation has been used, however a charge will apply based on the weight of the load. Find out more about tip fees and charges.
Red Hill Waste Management Facility - EMRC
The EMRC Red Hill Waste Management Facility is located at 1094 Toodyay Road, Red Hill.
Opening hours
Monday – Saturday: 8:00AM - 4:00PM
Sunday & public holidays: 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.
Accepted items
General items covered under a tip pass (up to 500kg per voucher)
- General waste
- Greenwaste
- < 1.5m long
- < 300mm diameter
- Polystyrene
- Broken furniture
- Building materials - including soil, sand, rubble, concrete, tiles and bricks
FREE drop-off items for residents - No pass required for these items (proof of residency still required and limits apply):
- E-waste - Digital items (televisions, computers, printers, modems, screens)- maximum of 10 items
- Cardboard
- Scrap metal (including bicycles, hot water systems, air conditioning units and whitegoods)
Household Hazardous Waste
- Paint (up to 100L)
- Batteries - Household and lithium ion (excludes embedded batteries which cannot be removed from the device)
- Waste oil (up to 20 litres)

Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre
The Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre is located at 271 Collier Road, Bayswater.
Opening hours
Monday – Friday: 7.30AM - 4:00PM
Saturday, Sunday & public holidays: 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.

General items covered under a tip pass (up to 300kg per voucher)

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) - FREE drop-off:
- Lead-acid batteries - max 10x
- Aerosol cans - Must be empty - max 10x
- Waste oil (up to 20 litres)
Conditions of entry
The following conditions apply when visiting Red Hill Waste Management Facility or Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre:
- Enclosed shoes must be worn.
- For public health and safety, please follow directions from staff while on site.
- Threatening or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated, and staff reserve the right to refuse entry to customers who do follow instructions.
- If you are bringing in a mixed load, please separate the waste streams (general waste, green waste, recyclables) into different piles in your vehicle/trailer prior to visiting the site to make unloading more efficient and increase material recovery.
- Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre is primarily for residential use. Commercial vehicles larger than 4.2m may be refused entry depending on the amount and type of waste for disposal. We recommend calling ahead to confirm there is capacity to facilitate the request. Contact Baywaste on (08) 9271 2964.
