The WA Planning Commission has released proposed changes to the State's Residential Design Codes (R-Codes) for public comment, as part of its ongoing review of the existing framework.
R-Codes guide the design and development of housing across Western Australia, from single homes and townhouses to apartments and residential subdivisions.
The stated intent of the review is to simplify and modernise the Codes, while facilitating increased residential development within established urban areas.
To view the full list of proposed changes and submit your comments, please visit the Department's Residential Design Codes Review page.
The consultation period is open until 26 February 2027.
