The Town celebrates the achievements of young people within the community and seeks to support their aspirations, personal development, and continued success by reducing financial barriers to their participation in a range of endeavours.
The Dudley Robinson Youth Excellence Grant aims to support young residents who are taking part in significant sporting, performance arts, academic, or leadership activities, particularly where they have been selected to participate at a state, national, or international level.
Eligibility & Applications
Eligible applicants can apply for a grant of up to $500 per financial year.
To be considered, applicants must be a Town of Bassendean resident aged 12 to 18 years and have been selected to represent an eligible activity at a state, national or international level.
Applications must be submitted online, via the Application Form below, and should include supporting evidence from an officially recognised organisation confirming the event, dates and the participant’s intent to attend.
A Town officer will assess submissions and recommend a decision to the Approving Officer, who will make the final decision. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by email within four weeks of lodging an application, and payments will be made to the nominated bank account listed on the application form.
Grant funding is not guaranteed, and applications will close once the Dudley Robinson Youth Excellence Grant budget has been expended.
Funding Categories
There are four categories covered by this grant:
- Sport: Individuals selected by an accepted sporting governing body to represent the State or Commonwealth in a recognised sporting event.
- Performance Arts: Individuals selected by an accepted performing arts body to represent the State or Commonwealth in a recognised competition.
- Academic discipline: High achieving individuals selected by a recognised educational institution to represent the State or Commonwealth at an academic or educational event.
- Youth leadership: Individuals selected to undertake youth leadership training delivered by a recognised organization.
