CCTV Rebate Scheme

The Town is committed to supporting safety in the community and offers rebates for new CCTV systems which capture views of public space and are registered with Cam-Map WA.

Eligibility & Application

Eligible applicants can apply for a rebate of 50% of the total cost of a new CCTV system up to $200 for residential applicants and up to $500 for business applicants.

To be considered, the property where the CCTV system is installed must be located within the Town of Bassendean boundary, and meet the following:

  • The rebate will only apply for new installations.
  • Applications will be limited to one per property.
  • The system must include at least one camera with a public-facing field of view and proof must be provided in the application.
  • The system must be registered with the WA Police Force’s Cam-Map WA and proof must be provided in the application. Cam-Map WA is a website to register public facing CCTV cameras. This register will assist police to locate public facing cameras quickly during investigations, help with the collection of CCTV evidence and respond more effectively to incidents as they arise.
  • Holders of a Western Australian Seniors Card are ineligible for the Residential CCTV Rebate program, on the basis that they can access incentives via the WA State Safety and Security Rebate scheme.

Applications can only be accepted up until the budgeted funding is depleted.
