Town Centre (Area 2) Parking Review – Targeted Consultation – Kenny Street (Closed)

As a result of the Council’s determination at the 23 May 23 Ordinary Council Meeting the Town is undertaking further consultation regarding potential parking restrictions for Kenny Street, particularly in the section bound by Guildford Road to the north and Palmerston Street to the south.

 

The Town has been advised that there are issues of vehicles parking all day in association with the Bassendean Railway Station and acknowledges that the area would benefit from the installation of some form of restriction, given there is currently no restrictions.

 

The Town is therefore undertaking a survey of the residents in relation to the preferred parking restriction for the area. Please see below options:

Parking Restriction
  1. No change. The road will continue to be managed under the existing Parking Local Law provisions (of which there are currently no restrictions to the access of the embayed parking bays).
  1. Timed Parking Restrictions – signed restrictions that will permit cars to park on the street for a nominated length of time (between business hours). Note this restriction would apply to all person’s parking in the area including residents and guests.

    *if option two is your preferred approach, please indicate your preferred timed restriction by circling either 2 for ‘two hours’ or 4 for ‘four hours’.
  1. Permit Parking – on an annual basis residents of the affected area may apply for residential and visitor parking permits to allow street parking in the restricted area (during business hours).

If you are an owner/occupier of the section of Kenny Street, please advise the Town of your preferred parking restriction and please do so in writing by the 22 December 2023. Preferences can be returned by being hand delivered to our Customer Service Centre at 35 Old Perth Road, Bassendean, by posting your comments to PO Box 87, Bassendean WA 6934, by emailing the feedback to the Town at [email protected] or by completing the submission form.

Once the consultation period has closed, a report will be prepared and presented to Council for consideration. The views represented in any submissions made will be reflected in the report so that they are duly considered. To ensure you are notified of when the matter will next be considered by Council in a timely manner, please provide an email address.

Should Council resolve to modify the existing parking restrictions, further will be provided to property owners immediately affected by those changes.
