New Fast EV Charger installed in Bassendean

Local electric vehicle (EV) drivers now have greater access to convenient, reliable charging with the installation of a new fast charger at James Street near BIC Reserve.

The 60kW Schneider dual charging station can charge a single vehicle at up to 60kW or two vehicles simultaneously at 30kW each.

The charger is operated by EV Charging Systems under a 10-year licence agreement.

The arrangement is cost-neutral for the Town and helps to support increased EV uptake and reduce vehicle emissions.

To access the charger, drivers will need to download the CPO Go Charge app which will  display kWh pricing and charging fees.

A credit card payment terminal will also be introduced in the future for added convenience.

The new charger is a step towards supporting the switch to more sustainable transport options in our community.
