Have your say on the Town’s future bike network

The Town of Bassendean is developing a 10-year Bike Plan to guide future investment in bike paths, shared paths and supporting cycling infrastructure across Bassendean, Ashfield and Eden Hill.

As part of stage one, the Town is inviting community members to complete a short online survey about how they currently ride, walk, wheel and move around the Town, what works well, and where improvements or missing links should be considered.

Feedback from the survey will help identify local priorities for safer, more connected and more convenient routes to key destinations such as schools, train stations, shops, parks, community facilities and neighbouring areas.

The survey is open to everyone – whether you ride every day, occasionally, with children, for recreation or commuting, or do not currently ride but would consider it if routes felt safer and better connected.

Community input will help the Town plan over the long term, set priorities and support future funding applications for bike path and active transport projects. The Bike Plan will align with State Government active transport planning, including the Western Australian Bicycle Network Plan and the Long-Term Cycle Network, while reflecting local community needs and priorities.

This first stage of consultation will form the draft Bike Plan, which is expected to be developed in 2027 before further consideration and planning. While the plan will guide future decision-making, projects will not be delivered immediately. Timing will depend on priorities, budgets, approvals and grant funding opportunities.

Completing the survey is the best way for community members to tell us which routes, gaps, safety issues and destinations should be considered first.

Complete the survey online by 4pm, Thursday 13 August 2026.
