The Bassendean Melody Club has received a $2,000 community grant from the Town of Bassendean to purchase a new PA system and overhead projector.

The new equipment will enhance the club’s inclusive and welcoming environment by making their weekly music concerts, quizzes, and social sessions more accessible and enjoyable for all members.

Running for more than 36 years, the Bassendean Melody Club is a volunteer-led local group that brings people of all abilities together through the joy of song, connection, and community spirit.

The club meets every Friday at 10am at the Town of Bassendean’s Community Hall and invites the local community to listen and join in with the singalong sessions.  

Melody Club President Moira Wilson, who has served for more than 20 years, said the weekly concerts are a popular event on the local social calendar, bringing together around 70 community members each week to share the joy of music with others.

The Town of Bassendean’s Community Grants Program supports local groups, organisations and individuals to deliver activities that promote a vibrant, connected, and inclusive community.
