Wandering dogs

If your dog escapes your property and is found wandering, you may be fined $200.

Impounded animals
If a registered and microchipped animal is impounded, we will notify the owner in writing and hold the animal for a minimum of 7 days at the City of South Perth Animal Care Facility.
If the animal has no identification, it will be held for a minimum of 72 hours. After 72 hours, the animal will be rehomed if suitable.
The Animal Care Facility is a safe environment, where animals are fed and kept comfortable with heating, cooling, clean linen and access to exercise areas.
Releasing an impounded animal
You will need to pay a fee to release an impounded pet.
All impounded pets must be registered or microchipped before they can be released.
If your pet is not registered or microchipped, you will need to pay registration fees and microchipping charges in full before they can be released.
