Frequently Asked Questions

What are BMX jumps?

BMX jumps provide a fun and challenging environment for riders of all skill levels, promoting physical activity and fitness.

Why is the Town installing BMX jumps?

The Town plans to install BMX jumps after a series of unofficial jumps were removed earlier in 2026.

A purpose-built BMX jump facility is designed to accommodate riders of all ages and skill levels, ensuring everyone can participate and enjoy the sport. It can also be maintained to a safe standard and protects the surrounding natural environment.

Why were the old BMX jumps removed?

The unofficial jumps were removed as they had expanded into environmentally sensitive areas within Bindaring Park.

Unauthorised bike jumps have the potential to damage surrounding vegetation and wildlife habitats.

The Town had also received complaints that some of the jumps posed a safety risk to the public.

What will happen to the site of the previous unofficial jumps?

The previous site will be rehabilitated and revegetated as the new BMX jumps become available for use.
