Friends of Success Hill Reserve in partnership with the Town of Bassendean, have received $11,382 in funding from the State Natural Resource Management (NRM) Community Stewardship Program for revegetation works in Success Hill Reserve.

Success Hill Reserve is a significant bushland area within the Town, being an important habitat for native fauna species, including Black Cockatoos and Quenda, and supporting several other native species including reptiles, bats, possums, snakes, birds and insects.

The reserve has an infestation of Veldt Grass which threatens the condition and biodiversity of the bushland by competing with native and planted seedling and increasing the fire risks within the reserve. The project aims to target a wider area of Veldt grass for control, to establish native vegetation and reduce weeds.

This project is supported and funded from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
