Earlier this week NBN co announced the latest list of suburbs and towns that are set to benefit from the next rollout of the nbn fibre upgrade, which included the Town of Bassendean.

The upgrade will enable residents living and working in premises that are currently served by Fibre to the Node (FTTN) to become eligible for Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) upgrades. This will enable access wholesale download speeds close to 1 Gbps on demand by 2023, if community members order plans based on eligible wholesale speed tiers.

The positive result comes after the Town’s Chief Executive Officer, Peta Mabbs, wrote to NBN in May 2021 expressing the disappointment and frustration from community members at not being included in the initial rollout.

The upgrade is due to be completed by 2023 and the Town will notify residents as we receive more information regarding future works.
