Public Notice of proposed temporary road closure
Local Government Act 1995 section 3.50
Northern Lane of Old Perth Road between Guildford Road and Wilson Street
Notice is hereby given under section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995 of the proposed temporary closure of a portion of dedicated public road on Old Perth Road Bassendean.
The Town of Bassendean wishes to advise that the Northern Lane of Old Perth Road between Guildford Road and Wilson Street will be wholly closed to vehicle traffic from 19th September 2022 until late November 2022.
The proposal is to wholly close this portion of Old Perth Road to vehicle access, of approximately 135 metres, from the corner of Guildford Road extending to Wilson Street. A temporary pedestrian space will be created that is accessible to the public and managed by the Town. This temporary road closure forms part of a wider proposal to obtain feedback from the community on a potential permanent road closure. During the activation period, the Town will be seeking public input on the matter, to assist Council in determining whether or not the closure should be continued.
Members of the community are requested to exercise caution and obey all warning signs and directions.
