Free Guided Walk: Historic Homes

Come for a stroll with your volunteer guide, Chris! Discover the first school built in Bassendean and explore the Devon Road Precinct, which shows the architectural style and details in the houses of the time, from Federation to Post War International.

Other stately homes on the walk include Daylesford House, Hazeldean and Holme house and the unique property of the 1980's "folly" on North Road.

Date: Wednesday 15th July 2026

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Meeting point: Meet outside the Bassendean Primary School carpark on West Road.

Cost: FREE, but bookings are essential!

If you can no longer attend the walk, please notify the library to allow another lucky patron to attend.

On the day

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat and SunSmart clothing and bring a water bottle.
  • Please ensure you eat a good meal before this walk to keep your energy up.
  • Sunscreen will be provided on the day.
  • Please be advised that no toilet facilities will be available during the 2-hour walk. Participants should ensure they make appropriate arrangements prior to the commencement of the activity.
