This is a guided tour of an active landfill and waste diversion facility and is suitable for adults, and children at least 6 years of age and older.
The tour provides an informative behind-the-scenes look at EMRC's waste diversion programs, the landfill tip face and Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) recovery.
After the site tour, participants are invited to visit Red Hill's Education Centre for a light morning tea, to see our waste education activities and connect with other attendees.
Minimum age requirement and adult supervision: Please note this is a mixed ages tour for the general public. The minimum age requirement for children is 6 years of age and they must be accompanied by a supervising adult - each attendee must be registered for their own ticket. Children under the age of 6 years old are not permitted.
Tour logistics and footwear requirements: This free chartered bus tour is for residents in the City of Bayswater and the Town of Bassendean.
The bus has scheduled departures from two locations as follows:
1) Bus departs 9:10am sharp from bus bay on Drake St, near the corner of Broun Ave, Morley
2) Bus departs 9:30am sharp bus bay outside the Bassendean Memorial Library on Old Perth Rd, near corner of Wilson St, Bassendean.
After visiting Red Hill, the bus will return guests to the same two locations aiming for the following drop-off times below:
3) Bus to return ~12:10pm to bus bay on Drake St, near the corner of Broun Ave, Morley
4) Bus to return ~12:30pm to bay outside the Bassendean Memorial Library on Old Perth Rd, near corner of Wilson St, Bassendean.
