Birak spans from December to January and signifies a time of rising temperatures and afternoon sea breezes!
Never been to a Citizenship Ceremony? Come check it out before the live music begins and welcome Bassendean’s newest citizens! Once the formalities are done, get set for some fun as we celebrate Birak with some amazing Indigenous musicians. It’s the perfect way to kick start the long weekend!

By the way, Gina has been rocking it as a Bassendean resident for a whopping 25 years!
🎵 Boox Kid – Get ready to groove with “Books” Kid, the maestro of visionary tunes packed with melodies you’ve never heard, harmonies that’ll make you sing, and instrumentation that’s simply out of his world! Leading this musical odyssey is Jarred Wall, proudly representing the Ngoongar heritage from the Wardandi Bibbulmun tribe in Western Australia’s Southwest.
🎵 Natasha Eldrige Duo – Natasha Eldridge, originating from Whadjuk and Ballardon Country, enchants audiences with her soulful, R&B-infused tunes and velvety acoustic folk melodies. Her lyrics? Pure heart-to-music magic!
