New after hours phone service

The Town of Bassendean is introducing a new After Hours Phone Service from 10 November 2025.

Residents who call 9377 8000 outside of regular business hours will be connected to a triage service operator who will assess the urgency of the issue. Only matters deemed urgent or requiring immediate attention will be escalated to an on-call staff member.

Issues considered non-urgent or out of scope for the on-call staff will be forwarded via email to the relevant department for follow-up on the next business day.

Examples of matters considered urgent and in scope for this service include:

  • Safety hazards on Town-managed roads (e.g. fallen or damaged trees, significant road spills, deceased animals, storm related flooding)
  • Loss of water at a Town-managed facility
  • Hazardous tree (damaged or fallen) affecting public land
  • Non-emergency security concerns involving Town-managed facilities (e.g. locked out or lost keys, fire alarm sounding unnecessarily)

This service aims to ensure timely responses to critical issues while streamlining non-urgent matters for efficient handling during business hours.

Please note: On-call staff members are not Rangers and are not qualified or authorised to deal with aggressive animals or dog attacks. These matters should be referred to WA Police. Ranger hours of operation can be found here
