Council is seeking community members to fill vacancies on the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) for the 2025/27 term.
The ARIC is an advisory committee formally appointed by Council and is responsible to Council.
The Committee's primary objective is to support Council in discharging its legislative responsibility associated with governing the Town's affairs and overseeing the allocation of the Town's finances and resources.
The Council is required to appoint suitably qualified and experienced persons to the roles of:
- Independent Presiding Member
- A local government must appoint an independent person as presiding member of the
ARIC.
- Independent Deputy Member/Deputy Presiding Member

A local government must appoint an independent person as Deputy Member to the
Presiding Member, stepping in when the Presiding Member is unavailable.

A local government may also appoint an independent committee member as Deputy
Presiding Member.
Appointment to the Committee is for a period of up to two years, terminating on the day of the Local Government Ordinary Council Elections. The Committee meets at least quarterly, generally at 5.30pm on a Wednesday.
