For Our Elders: Hope for the Future
Past Event
Collective Hope Community Services exist to bring hope to the marginalised and stand with Aboriginal people in the hope of reconciliation. As Collective Hope launch their Reconciliation Action Plan, a rich tapestry of Aboriginal culture will be woven through this event.
- Aboriginal Artist Nerolie Bynder will exhibit and have artworks for sale
- Stephanie Truscott & Co will provide live music, some in the Noongar language
- Special guest speaker, Mechelle Turvey (mother of the late Cassius Turvey) will speak to the message of Hope for the Future
- Stolen Generation Survivor Keith Truscott’s story will be told in film
- Aboriginal influenced food
- …and much more.
This will be a rich time of sharing stories, of meeting and greeting, of showing support for our First Nations Peoples and enjoying this beautiful and rich culture.
All are welcome to participate. Registrations are essential for catering purposes. The Bassendean Community Hall is the building directly next to the Library and downstairs, and not to be confused with the Seniors Centre next door.
Registrations can be made by calling 08 6001 6065 or emailing hayleys@collectivehope.org.au.
