Soil investigation works will take place at the Wilson Street Car Park from 7am to 5.30pm on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November as part of the State Government’s Affordable and Social Living development.

This project will deliver a nine-storey building with 73 apartments (58 affordable and 15 social) on the 1 Park Lane site, with construction expected to commence in mid-2026.

Key work details:

• The Wilson Street Car Park will be completely closed during these works, reopening for business on Wednesday 26 November.
• Works involve geotechnical and soil classification investigations, necessary due to the site’s high-water table and its long history without residential development.
• Residents may hear intermittent auger drilling during the day. Noise will be minimal and comparable to Guildford Road traffic.
