Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) (Closed)

The Disability Services Act 1993 (as amended) and the Disability Services Regulations 2004 require all local governments to prepare and adopt a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).

Disability Access and Inclusion Plans provide a means of ensuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunities to access services,   community events, buildings and facilities, information, consultation and complaints resolution process.

The Town’s current DAIP was adopted in 2019, and includes a range of actions that attempt to enhance the lives of people with different abilities.

The Town is currently reviewing its DAIP, which is intended to guide the Town for the next five years.

In accordance with section 28 (10) of the Act, the Town is required to undertake preliminary consultation by calling for submissions (including a survey as specified in the Regulations) to inform the review and the preparation of the updated AIP. To inform this, the Town has prepared a survey to assist with understanding what is important to our community and how we can increase access and inclusion for all members of our community.

Please complete the survey by close of business, Friday 5 May 2023.
