On Monday 8 August 2022, St Michael's Primary School Class of Year 4, attended The Bassendean Town Council as part of their Local Government studies.

The students gathered in the council chambers where they were given an overview of the Town of Bassendean, took part in a local government pop quiz and participated in a mock council meeting.

Year 4 teacher David Caddy said after the excursion, the children showed good knowledge of local council; learnt in a fun and interesting way.

"I heard one child comment, “That was the best excursion I have ever been on'", he said.
