Original update

The Town owned Wind in the Willows Early Childhood Education Centre in Bassendean has been closed after an Educator tested positive for COVID-19.

Wind in the Willows Bassendean has a COVID-19 Safety Plan, which was complied with at all times.That plan includes measures to prevent the spread of the virus within the centre as far as possible, including restricting flow across rooms within the centre.

Whilst awaiting further advice from the Department of Health, the Town has:

  • Closed Wind in the Willows Bassendean today to allow the Town’s decontamination cleaning contractor to perform a deep clean of the centre;
  • Advised all staff from the centre to remain at home whilst we are awaiting further advice from the Department of Health; and
  • Advised all families that attend the Wind in the Willows, Bassendean.

This is an evolving situation and further updates will be provided on this page as they come to light.
