 About the team
The Town’s Infrastructure and Sustainability Directorate is dedicated to high standards of service delivery for the community. We contribute to the Town’s strategic objectives through the protection, enhancement and development of the Town’s assets, infrastructure and natural environment. We achieve this through a continuous improvement approach, driving a safety-first culture, and applying best practice.

About the role
Under direction of the Manager Parks and Facilities, the Supervisor Parks and Gardens coordinates the day-to-day operational service delivery functions relevant to the Parks and Gardens business unit, involving both internal staff and external contractor resources. You will lead, develop and motivate staff, and promote a team culture aligned with the Town’s values and commitments to service excellence.

About you
The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in implementing and supervising work programs associated with the maintenance of public open space infrastructure i.e. sporting reserves, commercial irrigation systems, recreational parks, playgrounds, gardens and streetscapes, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety in an operational environment.

  • Relevant experience managing contractors, particularly works delivery in the public environment.

  • Experience preparing and managing budgets.

  • Sound understanding and the ability to use relevant IT systems and programs. 

  • Current WA driver’s licence.

Salary and Benefits
This permanent, full-time role attracts an annual salary range $91,798.60 - $97,976.88 per annum, plus superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours
The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as condensed hours (9-day fortnight or 19-day month), hybrid work and variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
