The Town of Bassendean is a small local government that sits along the Derbarl Yerrigan on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. The HR team is responsible for providing the full spectrum of HR lifecycle, workplace health, safety and wellbeing, and payroll activities for the Town. We have a client-focused approach, strive for continuous improvement, and actively collaborate with other teams to achieve the Town’s priorities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to provide exceptional operational and partnering support for internal and external stakeholders, and drive HR improvement projects. The Senior HR Advisor is forward-thinking, adaptable, with the ability to champion change and apply best-practice in a context-specific environment. This role presents an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on diverse work including project work, policy review/development, process improvement and organisational development initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff and interpret/advise on enterprise agreements and other applicable industrial instruments. In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Hold qualifications in HR, Employment Law, or another relevant field; or demonstrate equivalent experience

  • Have end-to-end recruitment and selection experience

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability build relationships with stakeholders and to tailor information to target audiences

  • Have experience in improving efficiencies and user experience through process mapping and implementing improvements

Salary and Benefits

This full-time, fixed term role attracts a salary of $97,000 to $102,500 plus superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training, and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours

The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as condensed hours (9-day fortnight or 19-day month), hybrid work, variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
