Effective control in off-lead areas

When walking your dog in any of our off‑lead reserves, it’s essential to keep them under effective control.

Effective control means:

  • a person capable of controlling the dog is near the dog at all times
  • you have a lead with you so it can be quickly attached to gain control of the dog
  • you are able to recall and give commands to control your dog
  • you remove any poo left by the dog
  • your dog/s must not chase or harass any person, animal or wildlife.

Cleaning up after your dog

You are required to pick up after your dog and dispose of dog poo responsibly when in a public place. If you do not, you may be fined $100.

We provide dog waste bags in designated dog areas and parks. We do our best to keep these stations stocked, however we recommend you also carry your own waste bags.
