WA Tree Festival 2025

The WA Tree Festival 2025 is a community celebration of trees in our urban areas and beyond. Running from 12 April - 10 May, the festival features a variety of workshops, school holiday activities and subsidised trees.

The initiative is delivered thanks to a group of local and regional councils including Town of Bassendean.

Trees provide a range of benefits, including:

  • Cooling our homes, streets, and environment (canopy cover can cool areas by up to five degrees and reduce cooling costs in the home).
  • Providing shade and habitat for wildlife.
  • Cleaning the air and improving mental and physical health.
  • Reducing heat-related illnesses and death during heat waves.
  • Increasing amenity and economic value of our homes, streets, and reserves (homes on tree-lined streets are worth an average of $16,000 more than homes on streets without trees).
