Local planning schemes set out the zoning of land, permissible land uses, the scale of development and other important information relating to building and development standards across the Town.

On 25 October 2022, Council resolved to adopt draft Local Planning Scheme No. 11, which has since been referred to the Western Australian Planning Commission, Environmental Protection Authority and Heritage Council of Western Australia for review for the purposes of consent to advertise. On 7 February 2023, the draft Scheme was approved for the purposes of advertising subject to minor modifications. 

The matter was subsequently considered by Council on 28 February 2023, where Council resolved to note the required changes, which have since been made.

The Town is currently advertising the Scheme and is seeking feedback on this important document.
