The Town of Bassendean is a small local government that sits along the Derbarl Yerrigan on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. About the team
The Town’s Children’s Services operates two quality early childhood Centres; Wind in the Willows. Wind in the Willows are places where childhood is cherished and children have a right to be heard. The dynamic and highly qualified team work respectfully and cohesively in the best interest of the children and the community.
About the role
If you are a nurturing, highly skilled and dedicated early childhood professional then we would love to hear from you. A minimum Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education equivalent qualification is essential. A valid Working with Children Check and police clearance is also required prior to commencement. Any additional skills, talents and interests such as music, dance or drama would also be desirable.

Salary and Benefits
The permanent full-time opportunity attracts a salary of:
1. Certificate III Qualified: $62,673* per annum plus superannuation
2. Diploma Qualified: $70,336.50* per annum plus superannuation
The casual opportunity attracts an hourly rate of $40.17* plus superannuation (inclusive of 25% casual loading).
*applicable from 2 July 2025
The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.
Working Hours
The full-time position is worked 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Our staff work on a rotating roster of the Centre’s operational hours, 7am to 6pm.
The casual position is worked on a relief basis, depending on operational needs and candidate availability.
