About the Team

The human resources (HR) is a small team responsible for providing the full spectrum of HR functions, employee lifecycle, workplace health, safety and wellbeing, and payroll activities for the Town. We have a client-focused approach, strive for continuous improvement and actively collaborate with other teams to achieve the Town’s priorities.

About the role

The role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to:

• Provide day-to-day operations of the HR function to enhance  organisational effectiveness and ensure the delivery of HR services that are focused on employee-experience and aligned with business needs. 
• Support the development, delivery, and review of employee lifecycle processes, policies, programs, and initiatives. 
• Contribute to HR projects and change programs to support continuous improvement, organizational development, and industrial/sector reforms. 
• Coordinate enterprise agreement negotiations, developing and implementing HRIS, managing organisational changes/restructures, and handling public sector reporting.
• Provide coaching and consultancy to line managers, offering solutions-based and professional assistance for employee relations matters (including grievances and disciplinary processes) and the case management of sensitive issues. 

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff and interpret/advice on enterprise agreements and other applicable industrial instruments. In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in human resources or related field.
• End-to-end recruitment and selection experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability build relationships with stakeholders and to tailor information to target audiences
• Experience in improving efficiencies and user experience through process mapping and implementing improvements

Salary and Benefits
This permanent full-time role attracts an annual salary of $97,000.00 – $102,000.00 + superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training, and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours
The position is full-time, 76 hours a fortnight, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as condensed hours (9-day fortnight), hybrid work, variable start/finish times may be negotiated for this role.
