About the Team
The Town’s Infrastructure and Sustainability Directorate is dedicated to high standards of service delivery for the community. We contribute to the Town’s strategic objectives through the protection, enhancement and development of the Town’s assets, infrastructure and natural environment. We achieve this through a continuous improvement approach and applying best practice.
About the Role
The role will give the successful applicant an opportunity to:
- Lead the service delivery functions of the Parks & Gardens and Building Maintenance units, under broad direction of the Director Infrastructure and Sustainability.
- Contribute to the Town’s asset management long term planning and development of projects and programmes of works.
- Undertake the project / contract / financial management of operational and capital projects.
- Works closely with the Director Infrastructure and Sustainability to effectively manage contract performance, compliance, and legislative requirements to ensure safe, cost effective, and best practice service delivery.

The successful candidate will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience managing a park operational portfolio / public open space infrastructure, or equivalent extensive specialist experience.
Experience in building repair, minor construction and maintenance, including associated building components and infrastructure.
- Highly developed understanding of Workplace Health and Safety in an operational environment and management of depot sites.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of best value service delivery and contract management.
- Well-developed project management and a sound knowledge of budgeting / forecasting skills, including relevant accounting and financial procedures.
- Current WA driver’s license.
Salary and Benefits
This full-time, permanent role attracts a salary of $ 113,000 - $ 120,000 per annum plus superannuation + $13,000 Vehicle allowance per annum
The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.
Working Hours
The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as condensed hours (19-day month), hybrid work and variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
