Every year we mark our community volunteers’ contribution to our daily lives at Thank a Volunteer Day and we do this as a small gesture to acknowledge the huge difference volunteers make to so many lives in our community.

Town of Bassendean, Telethon Community Cinemas & 5000meals supported by Department of Communities hosted a Thank a Volunteer Day celebration on 5 December 2020

With a special movie night event at the Community Cinemas in Bassendean.

Local community groups were invited to network with fellow volunteers and enjoy a special treat of paella and cake prepared by 5000meals. Special guests included local MP Dave Kelly, Mayor Cr Renée McLennan, Deputy Mayor Cr Cath Hamilton and Chair of 5000meals Jan Cooper with community groups representatives also in attendance.
