At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 27 February 2024, Council resolved to advertise amendments to Local Planning Policy No. 8 - Car Parking and End-of-Trip Facilities.

The draft amendments to the Local Planning Policy seek to:

• Reference the imminent Local Planning Scheme No. 11, rather than Local Planning Scheme No. 10.
• Make reference to, Part 9A of Schedule 2 (Deemed Provisions) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, which contains provisions relating to car parking.
• Simplify the car parking requirements for the Bassendean Town Centre to be one bay per 75m² of Net Lettable Area, irrespective of the specific use. It is intended that this requirement would apply until such time as a Precinct Structure Plan is approved for the Town Centre (which may contain precinct-specific car parking provisions.

Submissions close 5:00pm Friday 17 May 2024.

Following the close of the submission period, Council will review the submissions and consider the draft amendments to Local Planning Policy No. 8 - Car Parking and End-of-Trip Facilities for final approval.
