Waterwise Verge and Micro Wetland tour of Eden Hill

Past Event

Join us for a stroll of some of Eden Hills' waterwise verges+ gardens and hear about the Mary Crescent Reserve Micro Wetland project.

In 2021 as part of the Verge Transformation Project, the Town of Bassendean and Eden Hill Community Action Network collaborated to transform a number of verges in the Eden Hill area. This project ran alongside the Greening Australia and Town of Bassendean “Our Park, Our Place” project at Mary Crescent Reserve which saw a once barren drainage sump revitalised to become an award-winning micro wetland. In this tour you will visit some of these waterwise verge gardens, meet the passionate gardeners keen to tell you about their verge transformation experience and inspire you to get your own verge garden started.

The tour will end with a visit of the Mary Crescent Reserve Micro Wetland where you will hear about how this was achieved, the creation of a safe frog hotel, local community involvement and the return of species to the area. Light afternoon tea provided.

Registrations essential - book online.

This is a collaborative event between Enviro House, Eden Hill Community Action Network and the Town of Bassendean.

This event is part of the WA Tree Festival 2024: www.watreefestival.com.au.
