Planning Controls

Local Planning Strategy

The Town’s population will increase in the next 30 or so years as people discover these unspoilt inner suburbs, and with the state government requirement to plan for an additional 4150 dwellings by 2050. As population grows, so will demand for employment opportunities and access to infrastructure of all kinds (social, open space, transport).

The Local Planning Strategy establishes a plan to best accommodate this forecast growth and respond to forecast demand. A growing population offers the Town an opportunity to strengthen local communities socially, economically and environmentally.
