Two Bin System

Your two bin system allows for the separation of recyclable materials such as glass, plastic and metal, from your general waste. Materials from your yellow lid Recycling bin are taken to a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), sorted and sold to be made into new products.

What goes in each bin?

Each of the bins can accept up to 70 kilograms of the correct materials.  Anything over this amount will result in the collection vehicle being unable to empty the bin.

Recycling Bin (yellow lid)

The following items can be placed in your yellow lidded recycling bin:

  • Paper and Cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aluminium and steel cans
  • Plastic bottles and containers
  • Milk and juice cartons

These items must have lids removed, be clean and placed loosely (not in bags) in your recycling bin.
