Library Lunchtime Interlude - Learn how to make Beeswax Wraps

Past Event

Learn how to make Beeswax Wraps-An alternative to cling wrap. A Library Lunchtime Interlude.

Beeswax and cotton or hemp wraps are a versatile food wrap system that keeps food fresh longer without using plastic wrap. This is a stylish way to carry your food and ensure its freshness without costing the earth.

Vic Park Honey have been running wax wrap workshops since 2017 and have shown hundreds of people an alternative to cling wrap. Up until recently, people were using hot irons, and ovens to melt the beeswax: very messy and not particularly safe when doing this with children. They are the first to introduce electric frying pans. They are beekeepers themselves, so they can answer people’s question about beekeeping practices while making a beeswax wrap.

Participants will have a hands-on experience going through the entire process of making the wraps using effective recipes.
We can offer ready-made wax wraps as well as DIY-kits at a discount price at these events if participants would like to purchase these to take home.
