Street Tree Officer (12 month contract, full-time)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and suitable experienced Street Tree Officer to join our Infrastructure team to manage the Town’s Urban Tree program.

 

This position is responsible for the delivery of the Town’s Urban Tree program to support street tree management and practices in line with Council vision and strategic objectives.

The position will also provide technical support and advice in relation to existing tree management and maintenance.

Essential Criteria

The successful applicant will have knowledge and practical experience in:

  • A Minimum Certificate III Horticulture or Certificate III Arboriculture
  • Other qualifications relevant to the requirements of the position may be considered.
  • Ability to perform and interpret tree risk assessments using methodology such as Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) or International Society of Arboriculture Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), or other recognised tree risk methods, and knowledge of different tree valuation methodologies.
  • Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships with senior staff and stakeholders together with the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team and independently.
  • Experience in project and contract management and delivering to agreed timeframes and within approved budgets.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate contractors to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly developed knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook and CAD applications.
  • Good knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements as they relate to the workplace.
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence.

Salary and Benefits

Up to $59,292.70 per annum is offered (dependent on qualifications and experience). This position also includes the option to work a nine-day fortnight, free onsite parking, ongoing training and personal development, with up to two additional leave days per calendar year, 17.5% leave loading and up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply).
