The Town of Bassendean is seeking a self-motivated and vibrant Senior Educator (Teacher) to join our professional team at the Wind in the Willows Child Care Centre.


The position is responsible for implementing the Centre’s Philosophy through play-based learning, ensuring all programs and work practices exceed the National Quality Standards. The position also provides day-to-day guidance and mentoring of Educators to ensure programs and practices are operating effectively; actively promoting children’s autonomy and agency, adequate supervision of children at all times, maintaining high quality hygiene practices and assisting in training of new employees.


The successful applicant will nurture children’s potential and unique strengths through creating an inspiring environment and building reciprocal relationships, supporting self-directed experience of learning and connecting with the world around them. This includes supporting an environment where all children are encouraged to solve problems, enable discovery, share curiosity and express their own ideas.


We are seeking a positive, nurturing, highly skilled and dedicated individual to facilitate a quality educational program to enhance the lives of all children and families in our local community.


A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification is essential. A valid Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement. Any additional skills, talents and interests such as music, dance or drama would also be highly desirable.


Salary and Benefits

An attractive salary from $64,974 to $69,283 per annum is offered for the position plus 9.5% superannuation, professional development and additional holidays per calendar year. Working Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday based on a rotating roster of the Centre’s operational hours, 7am to 6pm.
