Draft Cats Local Law (Closed)

At its 27 April 2021 Ordinary Meeting, Council resolved to advertise a new draft Cats Local Law.

The purpose of the proposed Cats Local Law is to encourage responsible cat ownership and to provide for the effective management of cats within the Town in relation to places that are not public places, nuisance, number of cats at a premise and cat prohibited areas.

The effect of the proposed Cats Local Law is that persons who own or keep a cat within the Town are to comply with the provisions of this local law.

A copy of the proposed Local Law may be inspected at or obtained from the Town’s Customer Service Centre at 35 Old Perth Road, Bassendean between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, or at the Bassendean Library at 46 Old Perth Road, Bassendean during its hours of operation.  Alternatively the proposed Local Law can be reviewed on the Town’s website www.bassendean.wa.gov.au.

Submissions should be lodged via mail@bassendean.wa.gov.au.  Written submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Town of Bassendean, PO Box 87, Bassendean WA  6934.  Submissions close 5:00pm Friday 9 July, 2021. Any submissions received will be considered as part of the determination process and your submission will be publicly available in the Council Agenda.
