The Town of Bassendean Ranger Service is our community safety team. Experienced rangers provide a variety of services aimed at safeguarding our community, including patrolling the Town for unsupervised animals, enforcing car-parking regulations and local laws, and enhancing the Town's sense of harmony and safety by minimising danger and nuisance.
Our hours of operation are 7am to 9pm from September to April (Summer period) and 7am to 7pm from May to August (Winter period). The Ranger can be contacted on 9377 7480, seven days a week. After hours you may leave a message and the request for assistance will be dealt with the following day.
The Town's Ranger Service is responsible for the impounding of stray dogs and cats. All dogs and cats are impounded at the City of South Perth Animal Care Facility, 199 Thelma Street, Como, and can be collected between 12pm and 3pm 7 days a week (except Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Your dog/cat must be registered, microchipped and fees and charges paid in full before you can collect it.
Please note: there are no discounts or payment plans on impound fees.
The City of South Perth's website address is: www.southperth.wa.gov.au
Rangers are also responsible for ensuring the Town is free of fire hazards all year round. Annual inspections are carried out to ensure all properties comply by 31 October each year. For further advice on how to protect your home contact the Ranger.
