Midland Train Line Shutdown 21-25 September

Posted on: Friday, 8 September 2017 at 1:20:30 PM

A four-day Shutdown of the Midland Line is needed in September to complete a large portion of works for the  East Perth Station upgrade.

The Shutdown takes place from around 7pm on Thursday 21 September through to the last service on Monday 25 September (public holiday) and will impact all stations from East Perth to Midland.

All Midland Line passengers will be impacted by the shutdown, particularly during peak periods on Friday 22 September.  All stations from East Perth to Midland will be closed.  Replacement buses will operate throughout the Shutdown and will be increased to cater for Royal Show passengers on Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 September.

Due to the high volume of replacement buses running, journey times for road users near the train line may also be longer, so drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time.

Passengers who require special assistance on the network should phone customer service on 1800 800 022 at least an hour before they travel.

Visit the  Transperth website here to find out how the Shutdown will impact you and plan your journey.

Plan ahead with train replacement buses and allow extra travel time.

On Friday 22 September, trains will continue to run between Perth and Claisebrook on the Armadale/Thornlie Line, so there will be NO replacement buses to Perth.
