Recycle Centre
Battery and CFL Recycling
Thank you for taking part in the EMRC Recycling Program. The total collection weights from January to 17th of November 2011 are: The Town of Bassendean Administration Building: 81.2kg batteries and 7.3kg CFL (fluorescent lights). The Library collected 344.7kg batteries and 34.1kg CFL.
House-Bound Service
(Books on Wheels)
A delivery service is available to people unable to visit the library. This service is provided fortnightly on alternate Thursday or Friday afternoons, depending on location, and it is supported by volunteers who select and distribute the items. People wishing to use the house-bound service must live in the Town of Bassendean and become a member of the Library.

WiFi access at the Library
The Library is now WiFi enabled.
If your laptop, PDA, mobile phone or ipod has wireless connection installed and enabled you can purchase a $2.00 or a $5.00 scratch card from the Library staff
to access WiFi.
($1.00 will give you 25 minutes access)

Story time
For pre-schoolers, every Thursday and Friday 10.30-11.30 during school terms. Stories followed by simple craft. No need to book, just drop in.

It is Rhyme Time @ Bassendean Library

Mornings 10.30am-11.30am.
These are informal gatherings with stories, songs and rhymes, and a simple craft activity. The sessions are aimed at two to four year olds.

Say the Word!
The Bassendean Library, the Word is out and about. The colourful newsletter promotes current and upcoming events, displays, library news, reviews and general information. You can pick up a copy in the Library, at the Bassendean Village, through local Primary School libraries, Bassendean Council Customer Services, and some local shops.

Old school inspiration for local designer.
Local resident and artist Dee George has branched out into a new field with the creatio n of her first jewellery label called Dabble. Dee has always had a fascination with old school board games and that has sparked the inspiration for her unique vintage wooden Scrabble pieces. Dabble jewellery is on display in the Library 1-29 February
My name is Marisa Rocca and I collect figures. I have around 60. I have been collecting since I was 8. Marisa’s collection of figures is on display in The Library until the end of February.
