Asset Services Information Sheet – Faulty Street Lights

Introduction

Within the Town of Bassendean the majority of streetlights are owned and maintained by Western Power. Western Power streetlights are typically mounted on powder coated or plain galvanised metal poles, or the older style wooden poles.

In Old Perth Road, the Town has installed light poles to compliment the unique ambience of the Townscape. These streetlights are owned and maintained by Council.

Reporting of Faults – Western Power Owned Streetlights

Western Power have a streetlight bulb replacement program, however if you observe a faulty streetlight, please report it directly to Western Power on 1800 622 008 and they will arrange for the fault to be rectified.

Reporting of Faults – Council Owned Streetlights

Staff at the Town undertake a regular streetlight inspection and maintenance program. Faults or problems associated with the streetlights in Old Perth Road should be reported to the Town’s customer service centre on 9377 9000, or via email at mail@bassendean.wa.gov.au.
