Snakes

Snake in the back yard

Council refers a qualified group of volunteer people called Snake Busters to deal with this problem. Their number can be found in the white and yellow pages telephone book. These people may only be available after working hours as they do not get paid for their service.

Snakes are part of our environment and we need to prevent their movement by mowing all long grass in the bush fire season and removing unwanted rubbish in piles such as timber.

If you see a snake, remain calm and move away from its path. Never try to deal with a snake without qualifications. This will make the snake offensive, as it will be trying to protect itself.
