Two new Councillors elected to Council
Following the recent Local Government elections, the Town of Bassendean has two new Councillors.
Cr Kara Collins and Cr Mike Lewis (both in the North Ward) were welcomed as new Councillors for the Town. These Councillors, along with Cr John Gangell (who was returned in the East Ward), and Cr Anne Brinkworth and Cr Gerry Pule (who were returned in the West Ward) were all sworn in at a special meeting of Council on 20 October. At the same special meeting, Cr John Gangell was elected Mayor and Cr Sam Piantadosi JP was elected Deputy Mayor.
Mayor Gangell said, “I would like to thank the public for their strong support at the election, and I am honoured to have been elected Mayor of the Town of Bassendean.”
After 23 years of continuous service to the Town of Bassendean, Cr Tina Klein JP (North Ward) was defeated at the 2009 election. Cr John Cox OAM JP (North Ward) was also defeated in this year’s election. Mr Cox was re-elected in a by-election in 2008.

at 7.00pm on
Tuesday 15 December 2009.

1.0 Attendances and Apologies.
2.0 Report of the Mayor.
3.0 Receiving of the Annual Report, including the Annual Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report.
4.0 General Business.
Electors are encouraged to take the opportunity to raise questions of the Mayor and Senior Officers of the Council.
5.0 Closure.
Availability of Annual Report
The Annual Report will be available for inspection at the Council Offices during office hours from Monday 30 November.
