What’s on in our region?
If you would like to know what’s on in the Eastern Region, then it’s time to pick up a copy of the 2009 Regional Calendar of Events, which will hit the streets from 22 December 2008. The free calendar is the best source for information on all of the Region’s events.
Pick up your copy of the 2009 Calendar of Events from the Town’s Customer Service Centre or the Bassendean Memorial Library.
The Calendar is also available to view online at perthtourism.com.au or email tourism@emrc.org.au for more information.
Financial help available for community events!
Applications are open for local groups to apply for sponsorship opportunities from the Town to assist with conducting community events. Applicants can request sponsorship up to a maximum of $1,000 for a range of community events, such as community picnics, all ages gigs, Youth Advisory Council concerts, open days for local sporting and community groups and celebratory days.

Christmas and New Year Closures
The Town’s Administration Office and Customer Service Centre will be closed to the public from 12.30 pm on Wednesday 24 December 2008 to re-open at 8.30 am on Monday 5 January 2009.
Library Service closing hours over the Christmas and New Year Period
All library users are asked to make a diary note about the hours of access to the library for the Christmas and New Year period. The Library will be closed from Thursday 25 December to Thursday 1 January 2009 inclusive. The Library will be open on Friday 2 January and Saturday 3 January 2009.
All Library patrons are advised that the after hours return facility is available and that you can use the Library website at www.bassendean.wa.gov.au/library for renewing items on loan or placing a request.
