Volunteer Centre
The Volunteer Centre is an initiative of the Town of Bassendean and is situated at 50 Old Perth Road. Our office is open Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) from 9am to 4pm.
The Centre opened in March 2007 and is working towards providing a central point and link for Volunteer enquiries and referrals for both our internal business units and community organisations.
As part of our 2030 Vision and working towards a safe and healthy community, we will be working in with our community organisations to promote volunteering and the benefits which are involved. There will also be opportunities for training and sharing of information through this network for those organisations who join. Membership is free.
On a larger scale - our Centre is a member of the State-wide Volunteer Centre Alliance Network here in WA. This network links into the other 22 centres from Christmas Island in the north to Esperance in the south. Through this network and links to Australian, State and Overseas departments/organisations it assists and promotes current volunteer management practices and procedures for its members.

Community Transport
Our service of two people-mover mini buses assists over 400 residents of the Town.
One bus is used for transporting residents within the Town's boundaries. This bus transports groups of people to weekly social events as well as being the Thursday shuttle shopping service bus to the Village Shopping Centre, and also getting our residents to their medial or dental appointments.
The other bus is used to transport our residents to the wider metropolitan area and their more specialised medical appointments.
Our buses and office are personed by a wonderful group of volunteer women and men. The buses operate from 9.00am till 4.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). There is no fee for the use of these buses, however donations are greatly appreciated.
As our service is popular we endeavour to assist as many residents as possible.
